As a doctor, it is vital that you’re monitoring our online reviews and comments on a daily basis, doing this will have an immediate and positive impact on the growth of our clinic.

Now, talking about online reputation management, I’m constantly amazed by the number of doctors who are not giving it the attention that it deserves

There are many moving parts when it comes to managing your online reputation. It can get overwhelming or just tedious, but it’s very, very important that you’re monitoring and responding proactively, encouraging patient reviews and feedback.

In this article, I will talk about the first step of that process, and that is monitoring our online reviews and comments, and why it is vital for the growth of your medical practice.

Your online reviews are social proof for your prospective clients and the quality of ratings of which will either convince them to contact you or will make them ignore you and look away for another option, and go to another doctor with whom to consult.

So the first thing you need to do when starting to monitor your online comments is bookmark the URLs of your Google my business listing and your social media accounts,  Facebook, YouTube channel or Instagram etc.).

Second, set up Google Alerts for your name and the name of your clinic. This just takes a few minutes to set up. You will get an email from Google alerting you or your clinic gets mentioned online, this will give you the opportunity to go check it out.

Here is the link on how you can set up Google Alerts

Next thing you need to do is block 10 minutes of your time every day in your Google or iCal calendar so that you get a daily reminder to go check your online reviews and comments.

Now, be careful to choose a time before or after your OPD timings so that there are fewer distractions for you. When the time comes to open up your browser, click on your bookmarks, login and go through the latest reviews and comments. Now, do not answer or reply right away.

I’ll be posting an article very soon in which I will be telling you about the best practices for responding to negative and positive online reviews.

You need to do this every day. It doesn’t take that long. And, it will put your way ahead of your competition, as I’m pretty sure most of them are not monitoring their online reviews on a regular basis.
